dc.descriptionความสำคัญของพันธกิจการทำพิพิธภัณฑ์เป็นแนวทางในการทำงาน / ปฏิบัติงานพิพิธภัณฑ์ คือการทบทวนบทบาทของพันธกิจอย่างสม่ำเสมอ ทั้งในด้านการประเมินด้วยตนเอง การจัดทำแผนการทำงานระยะยาวรายบุคคล เป็นการทบทวน ทั้งต้องหาแนวทางใหม่ ๆ ในการทำงาน มีกรณีศึกษาของการทบทวน ปรับปรุงพันธกิจของพิพิธภัณฑ์ Fort Ticonderoga ตั้งแต่ปีเริ่มตั้ง 1931 – 2003 บางครั้งการทำงานพิพิธภัณฑ์นอกจากการคำนึงถึงพันธกิจแล้วก็ต้องนึกถึงการหากำไรด้วย ดังนั้นความคิดดี ๆ ไอเดียใหม่ ๆ นั้นมาจากการขัยเคลื่อนของพันธกิจ (mission – driver) และควบคู่กับการขับเคลื่อนของการหากำไร (profit - driver) มีผังแสดงขั้นตอน Mission – Profit Chart
