ASEAN is indeed a 'space of diversity' in identity, ethnicity, memory, media and language. The figurative and spatial configuration of ASEAN regional integration is proceeding in tandem with a multitude of new interactions between old and new diversities. The politics of ASEAN 'space of diversity' therefore becomes a crucial area of debate and action in the construction of all three pillars of ASEAN Community.
